5083 marine aluminum sheet can be regarded as a representative product of 5 series marine aluminum sheet, and the states include H116/H321/H112, etc. It has medium strength, good corrosion resistance and formability, and high fatigue resistance. It is generally used as the main structure including hull, keel, frame, etc. MC Aluminum can provide classification society certification, China Classification Society certification (CCS) and Norwegian Classification Society certification (DNV) and other certificates.

5083 Tempering
5083 aluminum sheet tempering state:
Aluminum sheet 5083 H116 is suitable for products made of 5xxx series alloys with a magnesium content of 4% or more. These products have the required mechanical properties as well as anti-flaking and corrosion properties.
Aluminum sheet 5083 H111, a fully annealed product, has undergone moderate work hardening, but cannot reach the hardness of the H11 state.
Aluminum sheet 5083-H112: Suitable for hot-rolled products. The mechanical properties of products under this condition are specified.
Aluminum sheet 5083-H321: Suitable for processing aluminum materials with a magnesium content greater than 4%, and the degree of work hardening during hot and cold working is slightly less than H32. H116 has higher technical parameter requirements and strict requirements on corrosion resistance and magnesium content; but H321 has good performance stability.
Advantages
Why should marine aluminum sheet use 5083 aluminum sheet?
1. 5083 aluminum sheet has high strength among non-heat-treatable aluminum alloys.
2. 5083 aluminum sheet has good corrosion resistance and performs well in seawater.
3. Easy to process, thin sheets can be bent, saving many processes.
4. Welding performance, easy to weld.
5. 6 series alloys will undergo intergranular corrosion in seawater and are not suitable for use on ships.
6. 7 series alloys have poor corrosion resistance and are not suitable for marine environments.
Application
Application of 5083 marine grade aluminum sheet
1.Hull structure: can be used for hull, deck, bulkhead and superstructure, with high strength and corrosion resistance, can withstand the loads and stresses in navigation and marine environment.
2.Ship internal parts: suitable for cargo holds, bulkheads, stairs and deck covers, lightweight design helps to reduce the weight of the ship, improve fuel efficiency and load capacity.
3.Deck equipment: used to manufacture gangways, portholes, cranes and ship doors, etc., can maintain structural integrity in harsh marine environments.
4.Tanks and fuel tanks: good corrosion resistance, suitable for manufacturing tanks for storing fuel, fresh water and other chemicals.
