What are reinforced plates
Reinforced plates are composed of plates (the so-called skins) and ribs, which greatly improve the bending or buckling stiffness of aluminum plates. Reinforced plates are widely used in structural components of the entire hull, i.e. double bottoms, side plates, deck areas, etc.
Marine reinforcement plates are usually made of alloys such as 5083, 5086, and 6082. They have excellent corrosion resistance, high strength and good weldability, and are suitable for use in marine environments.
Reinforced plate welding process
For a long time, the industrial assembly process of these components has adopted riveting or MIG welding. Nowadays, FSW welding is becoming more and more popular in high-tech industries. Friction stir welding technology can produce lighter and stronger reinforced plates.
Reinforced shape
Ribbed plates are currently commonly used aluminum alloy plate types. The transverse reinforcement ribs arranged on this type of aluminum alloy ribbed plates generally adopt a hanging structure, and the longitudinal reinforcement adopts a riding rib structure.
